You Don’t Get to the Throne Without the Pit

You Don’t Get to the Throne Without the Pit

Introduction

No one wants the pit.
No one prays for it.
No one signs up for it.

Yet Scripture shows us again and again:
God often uses the pit as His classroom.

Before Joseph governed Egypt, he sat in prison.
Before David ruled Israel, he hid in caves.
Before Jesus was glorified, He carried a cross.

The pit is not God’s absence.
It is often God’s preparation.

The Purpose of the Pit

The pit humbles us.
It strips false confidence.
It exposes weak foundations.
It teaches dependence on God.

In the pit, pride dies.
In the pit, prayer grows.
In the pit, faith deepens.

What We Learn in Low Places

We learn patience.
We learn obedience without applause.
We learn faith without guarantees.
We learn endurance without recognition.

God builds spiritual muscles in hidden seasons.

When Promotion Finally Comes

Joseph did not need training when he reached the palace.
He had already learned leadership in prison.

David did not need courage when he became king.
He had already fought lions in private.

What God develops in secret sustains us in public.

Encouragement for Today

If you are in a pit season:

God sees you.
God is shaping you.
God is not finished.

Your story is still unfolding.

Closing

You don’t get to the throne without the pit.
But you also don’t stay in the pit forever.

God is faithful.
Trust the process.
Trust the Potter.
