When You Don’t Know the Way, Start with His Love

When You Don’t Know the Way, Start with His Love

There are mornings when clarity feels distant.

Decisions press in. Responsibilities stack up. You want direction. You want certainty. You want a clear next step.

David felt that tension too. In Psalm 143:8, he prays, “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning… cause me to know the way in which I should walk.”

Notice the order.

He asks to hear love before he asks to know the way.

That is not accidental.

We often wake up wanting answers. God invites us to wake up wanting Him.

Lovingkindness First

If you start your day anxious about direction, you will walk in pressure.
If you start your day anchored in His steadfast love, you will walk in peace.

His lovingkindness steadies the heart. It reminds you that your value is not tied to productivity. Your worth is not defined by perfect decisions. You are held.

Trust Before Clarity

“For in You do I trust.”

Trust is a declaration. David chooses trust before the road is visible. That is mature faith.

We want God to show us the plan so we can decide whether to trust Him.
David trusts first.

Purpose Is Alignment

“Cause me to know the way in which I should walk.”

Purpose is not about doing more. It is about doing what He assigns. A purposeful life is one surrendered to His direction.

When your life becomes an offering, every gift becomes an instrument.
Your writing.
Your leadership.
Your creativity.
Your voice.

Used for His glory, they become steps ordered by Him.

If you are unsure of your direction, do not panic.
Start with lovingkindness.
Declare trust.
Lift your soul.

He guides surrendered hearts.
